How do i find the matching colour for my Ford Mondeo 1998.? I have spoken to a Ford dealer. I was told the colour is petrol blue. Now my front bumper is a completely different colour to the rest of the car. Any suggestions?

james n replied: "go to a body repair shop, they will be able to give you the paint code. If your bumper is made of plastic, there will be a slight difference in the paint. This is due to the resins and material in the plastic."

This should identify the exact shade although two caveats 1/ on a car this age the paint may have faded somewhat if stored outside and 2/ can you be sure it has never had a respray in a slightly different colour."

What is the name of the colour on some ford fiestas mk5? the colour is this it is called green on car sales websites but i need to know the right name because my samuari body kit is that colour and need to get the car sprayed the same colour as the body kit, the body kit doesnt say the name of the colour either. this is the car with the colour.

I have 1998/1999 1.6 LX Ford Escort. My coolant is a dark colour and the car is heating up. Any idea why? I have had the head gasket fixed (skimmed?!) recently after a crack being discovered and the cambelt changed. It was very expensive so I am hoping this isn't going to be a big problem.

Ez Widerz replied: "Yeah... It need flushed out! And I would also reccomend replacing the thermostat as well... If that doesnt fix your problem, Check the Waterpump.. But go with the simple and easiest first... But judging from your Question... Sounds as if it may be just a simple flushing of the radiator and block... BUT... Do replace the Thermostat!.... :D"

David J replied: "If youve spent alot already Id go back to the garage mechanic & get them to have a casual look - it may be related to work they've done....the other advice given here is good but I would avoid messing with anything until its been looked at, is there oil in the water or is it a build up of gunge I'd be a little disapointed to get the car back in this state :-("

Grizz replied: "Hi Before you do anything yourself, take the car back to the establishment who did the recent work on your car, because it may be that the problem is symtomatic of the recent repairs, and if you pull things apart before you take it back then you haven't got a leg to stand on. It may be as simple as a good old cooling system flush out and a new thermostat. If you do end up flushing the cooling system out, add a small cup of laundry powder to the old coolant and run the engine up to operating temperature and then a minute or two more before you drain it and then flush it good and thoroughly. omeath replied: "hi, if the head is cracked then skimming it or fitting a new gasket is useless (as your mechanic should know). i suggest getting a second hand head (skim it if you wish but i wouldnt bother) and replace the gasket even though your one is almost new. skimming a head is only usefull when the head has been warped through overheating.a cracked head is a diffirent matter. however a second hand head should not be sxpensive and fitting is not rocket science. p s change your mechanic"

The last one I saw was old and beat up.... so I was thinking you got an old beat up one and painted it purple! Anyhow so what does a new ford fiesta look like? Do you have a picture?
